The official opening of the new Poundland store in Ealing today has been cancelled.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the new store, located on the High Street, Ealing Broadway, will not be opening this week as expected.

The free, seven-session course, is being run in Ealing and Hammersmith and Fulham in various centres in each borough. The course includes balancing caring and a life for yourself, resources, practical and emotional issues.

A number of vulnerable people travelling on buses have had their purses stolen and Walpole Safer Neighbourhood Team are offering crime prevention advice to prevent further reports.

Women are advised to keep their handbags under their arms and close their bodies or strap bags worn across the body.


Bogus charity scams in Ealing

Bogus charity leaflets are doing the rounds in Ealing and neighbourhood watch teams and the police are advising people not to get duped by the scams.

The most recent flyer posted through letterboxes, and laden with spelling mistakes, is from the 'breast cancer prevention programme' asking people to donate clothing, curtains, towels, handbags, toys and shoes, with a minimum £1,500 per month donated to the charity.

Ealing hospital health officials have denied rumours that the emergency department will close under drastic measures being considered by NHS London.

According to a leaked NHS London document, six A&E departments in North West London could be closed or downgraded in a bid to address the £5billion NHS funding shortfall.

Timothy Kennelly's funeral will take place on Friday February 12 at St Benedict's Ealing Abbey starting at 1pm.

The Kennelly family are inviting all who knew Timothy and anyone who wishes to pay their respects to the teenager who tragically drowned while trying to save his 'After Death' band mate who was struggling in the rough waters off the North-Eastern coast of Brazil.

A course is being designed by carers for carers who are struggling to cope with loved ones.

Caring with Confidence is a new free training programme being run in Ealing in various centres across the borough.The seven-session course includes balancing caring and a life for yourself, resources, practical and emotional issues. You can go to as many sessions as you want.
