Police hunt violent Ealing watch theives
A TERRIFIED man was forced to the ground and had his valuable watch ripped off his wrist as he was about to walk inside his home.
The 48-year-old was grabbed around the throat before being dragged to the floor and having his head held down in Haven Lane, Ealing.
The thug made off with the Hublot watch, model type Big Bang, at about 8pm last Thursday (22). It is stainless steel with a white and black dial and a black rubber strap.
The attacker is black, 5ft 8ins, about 20 to 25 and has an athletic build. He had short, curly, black hair and wore a navy hooded jumper.
He was accompanied by another man of a similar appearance. They both ran off towards Jubilee Road.
It follows the robbery of two valuable watches, worth about £25,000 each, on February 15.
It was committed by two men, one white, one black, both wearing light-coloured scarves around the bottom of their faces, in West Avenue, Southall.
The 23-year-old victim had to have hospital treatment after he was punched in the face.
Police were unavailable to comment whether the crimes were connected.
Describing the latest robbery, PC Victoria Thorne, of Ealing Robbery Squad, said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a man who was going about his day to day business.
"We are appealing not only to try and find these individuals but also to try and locate the stolen watch which is of great personal sentiment to its owner. It is a very unique watch so would be recognisable to a business who may intercept it.
