Smoke alarm triggers evacuation in Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre
STARTLED residents were evacuated from Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre this afternoon after a smoke alarm went off on the roof.
Police and three fire engines were called at about 3.50pm.
The fire brigade quickly established it was a false alarm and shoppers were allowed back into the centre shortly after.
The centre's management is investigating what set off the alarm.
Operations manager Lee Papadopolous, said: "We take safety of customers and staff very seriously. If it was a real emergency someone may have got hurt so we have to follow proper procedures."
