THE first fundraiser in aid of the riots was a fantastic success with hordes of people popping along throughout the day to show their support.

THE oldest person to be arrested in connection with the London riots was a 70 year old man in Ealing.

The pensioner, who cannot be named, was arrested on August 8 in connection with theft from a shop in West Ealing. He was later released with a caution.

The alleged, all from Hammersmith and Fulham borough, appeared at Ealing Magistrates' Court last Wednesday (10) and have been remanded on bail to reappear on September 21.
