Police to pound streets of Ealing this weekend

Posted by Paloma Kubiak on Feb 5, 10 11:33 AM in Crime

Police will be out in force this weekend combating night-time violence with patrols of crime hotspots and targeting uninsured cars and unlicensed drivers during the day.

The Ealing Specials, as part of 'Operation Spring Hope', will be out on the streets of Ealing, equipped with an automatic number plate reader and uninsured drivers could be handed a £200 fine, six points on their licence or have their car taken away.

On Sunday, there will be a crime prevention and recruitment stand in Ealing Broadway shopping centre for anyone wanting to be a police volunteer, special constable or cadet.

A new team of seven Specials has also been set up to patrol the Town Centre and they will be working closely with Ealing Broadway Safer Neighbourhood Team, Ealing Business Improvement District and the Council.

We'd like to hear from you.
