Ealing carol concert raises cash for organ fund
A charity carol concert raised nearly £2,000 in aid of the St Barnabas organ restoration fund.
The Ealing Choral Society conducted by Jonathan Williams sung traditional and less well known carols to an audience of 350 on Saturday December 12.
Mayor of Ealing, Barbara Yerolemou and her special guest, Christian Picaud, the president of the Friends of Ealing which is twinned with Marcq-en-Baroeul in France attended the carol concert at the St Barnabas Church in Pitshanger.
Cynthia Haliburn of the Ealing Choral Society, said: "There were 75 performers and the atmosphere was warm and cheerful for the start of the Christmas season.
"Everyone was looking happy and the audience was entertained by a delightful range of carols, both new and traditional, together with readings given by the Mayor and Chair of Ealing Choral Society, Shane Beadle."
A total of £1,995 was raised towards the restoration of the St Barnabas Organ, a three-manual 1877 William Hill Organ.
But £300,000 is still needed and anyone wishing to donate should visit http://www.barnabites.org/organ or call 020 8997 3248.
