Christine Bleakley opens Ealing library
Children sang and danced for a tv presenter and special guests for the launch of their new learning centre.
Hathaway Primary School in Hathaway Gardens, West Ealing, welcomed Christine Bleakley, the co-host of The One Show to officially open the learning resource centre, equipped with a chill-out sofa, laptops and library.
It is hoped the £72,000 suite will attract pupils to spend more of their learning time in the new area and help encourage creative thinking.
Christine Bleakley said: "I work in a creative industry, and I know learning and inspiration can come in many forms.
"I'm delighted to be here to see how this is working in practice at Hathaway and to witness the school ensuring that learning is stimulating, innovative and - most of all - fun."
The launch event was attended by MP Steve Pound and the pupils gave a presentation on the new International Primary Curriculum (IPC) where children learn through discovery rather standard textbook teaching methods.
Sarah Wilson, headteacher of Hathaway Primary School said: "Creativity is fundamental to what we do at Hathaway and we've made this significant investment to be able to further support the passion for learning that we encourage in our pupils."
