H&M launches new store in Ealing Broadway

eg-broadwayhm.jpgClothing store H&M has opened up on Ealing Broadway raising fresh hopes for the recession-hit town centre.

The chain opened for business today and shoppers were optimistic it will bring a much-needed boost to the area. A small queue had already formed half an hour before the new shop was due to open at 11am.

Abdi Warsame, 39, of Acton was one of the first to arrive, he said: "It's a very good thing, it's fantastic. I'm a fan of this store because it's good for the whole family and it'll be very good for Ealing Broadway."

Carl Reddy, 36, of Ealing, echoed his views, he said: "It's great to have another big name in Ealing, things have dropped off around here a hell of a lot. A lot of Ealing has been filled with pound shops and other shops which shouldn't be here."

And Keelie Francis, 21, of Hanwell, added: "I've always wanted H&M to come here. The clothes are fashionable and reasonably priced. Quite a few shops have gone from here so this will be really good for the area."

No doubt H&M bosses will hope to follow on from the success of Primark which replaced the old Beales department store at the beginning of last year.

The new store's manager Jay Mepani, said: "The H&M team are really excited about the opening of our brand new store in Ealing and we're delighted with the response from our customers so far. It's been very rewarding after all our hard work to get the store ready."

We'd like to hear from you.
