Acton youth theatre project for Priory

A youth theatre group has launched a bold new project to preserve the history of the Priory Community Centre which is earmarked for demolition.

The centre built in Acton in the 1860s and home to a variety of youth and adult groups, is to be knocked down and rebuilt in one of two locations within the next five years as part of the regeneration plans for the area.

Now Theatre Studio West, which currently use the Priory, has come up with a plan to preserve its history and the impact it has had on the community.

They will make a film, Our Centre, about the Priory which will include taking their own pictures, speaking to residents and documenting events and activities that have taken place there over the years. Other local children are also welcome to take part in the year-long Heritage Lottery project.

We'd like to hear from you.
