Ealing Youngsters in Care

Posted by Paloma Kubiak on Aug 28, 09 01:13 PM in Local Authority

Up to 10 of Ealing's young people in care are expected to go to university after receiving their A-level results.

They will join 42 other care leavers already at university and around 18per cent of looked-after children in Ealing go on to further study, three times the national average.

Ealing Council's Cabinet Member for Children's Services, Councillor Ian Gibb, said: "The council has high ambitions for all our young people in care and we know a good education holds the key to improved life chances.

"We believe the commitment and effort we put into supporting their education is reciprocated by the young people and we're proud of the success they've achieved."

We'd like to hear from you.
