Ealing Dog Parasite Warning
Dog owners are being warned to look out for a killer parasite, lungworm, which has already proved fatal in London.
The Village Vet Group which has a veterinary practice in Ealing, has dealt with 16 cases across their London centres.
Dogs who eat slugs and snails are most at risk and owners should look out for coughing, reluctance to exercise, depression, weight loss, fits, vomiting, diarrhoea or persistent bleeding from seemingly minor cuts.
The sooner the disease is identified, the easier it is to treat and the dog should go on to make a full recovery.
