Ealing Council threatened with computer virus
THE Council's phone, email and website system went down over the weekend following reports of a virus threat.
Callers were unable to get through to customer services and could only contact staff if they had direct numbers.
As a precautionary measure, the council shut down the computer system and is working to restore services.
The website is still temporarily unavailable and members of the public are advised to call only if the enquiry is urgent.
An Ealing Council spokeswoman said: "Despite having comprehensive security software, the council computer system was threatened by a virus late last week.
"The threat has now been removed and we are working to restore services as quickly as possible.
"We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused."
